Publishing with Microsoft Front Page
Publish to your School Web site
To upload to your school web site load Microsoft Front Page.
Select "Open Site..." from the File menu..
In the Site name box, enter your school address in the form: http://www.schoolname.dudley.gov.uk (the http:// is important)
Press "Open".
After a short time, you will be prompted for a name and password:
Your name is of the form schoolname.dudley
Your password is an 8 digit case-sensitive word that will have been sent to you by email. Ring Curriculum Support on 3833 if you have lost it.
You now have access to your website. You can use Front Page Editor to create and edit pages.
Publish to your School Intranet
To access your school Intranet, load Internet Explorer and enter the following address: intranet
Select "Open Site..." from the File menu..
In the Site name box, enter your school address in the form: http://intranet (the http:// is important)
Press "Open".
Then choose the part of the intranet you wish to modify. Homeweb is the top level of the intranet.
You now have access to your Intranet and can use FrontPage Editor to create and edit pages.
Notes:
By default staff users are able to create and edit Intranet pages.
By default authorised users have permission to change the permissions of the Intranet. To find out who is the authorised user in your school, please contact your ICT Department or ring the helpdesk.
By default, Internet Explorer will start up by connecting to the DVRC.
To change this, so that Internet Explorer connects to your intranet, please ring the
helpdesk.
