Safety Town

Safety Town is an event for KS1 children, offered to schools on a rota basis. It happens twice a year, normally in February and November.

Children are welcomed to the "set" of a town, where they visit key points to find out some of the dangers they could come across and how to deal with them. The fire station, police station and doctors surgery are visited as well as some of the more dangerous areas of the home - the kitchen in particular!

The heart of the set is the street, where the Road Safety training takes place.

The key theme is STOP, LOOK, LISTEN. Children cross at various "safer places", carrying out these three important rules. Who knows what is around the corner.......
