Dudley's cycle training is based on three key documents
The standards were developed by the National Cyclist Training Reference Group, which is made up from representatives of interested bodies and organisations, including LARSOA, CTC and RoSPA.
Each level builds on the previous one, and outcomes are progressive. .
Level 1a First time rider – you need support to ride a bike

You can signal right and left without wobbling |

Level 2 You have good control. You are now able to use your skills on the roads

You can turn left into a major road and right into a minor road |

You are able to take the lane when you need to |

You can decide if a cycle lane is going to help your journey |
12 | You can explain why you have made decisions and therefore demonstrate understanding of safe riding strategy |
13 | You have a basic understanding of the highway code, in particular how to interpret road signs |
Level 3 You are confident to do some local journeys independently. You are now ready to look at more complicated situations.
