Digital Projectors - maintenance
Please read and follow these simple maintenance instructions to support trouble free projector operation and maximise the lamp life (~1800 hours).
Failure to follow these instructions can result in premature lamp failure and can incur costly repairs not covered by the warranty.
Filters
Change or Clean the dust filters on the projector every 100 Hours of use, on an average school day this is every 3 Weeks. This must be done with projector switched off. Please consult the projector user manual for instructions on how to do this.
Power down
As a general rule powering down the projector between lessons will actually shorten the lamp life. Thus, keep the projector switched on at all times when it is expected to be in use. Constantly switching on and off every 30/40 minutes will reduce the expected lamp life.
If you have to switch the projector off, do not turn on immediately; you must wait approximately 15 minutes before switching on again.
| WARNING | NEVER turn the projector off by using the
rear power switch, disconnecting the mains lead or switching off the mains supply. Failure to observe this will result in premature lamp failure. |
The correct procedure is as follows:
Press the STAND-BY button on the projector
or the remote control unit to put the projector into STANDBY.
DO NOT TURN OFF AT THE MAINS SWITCH.
- Allow time (this normally takes 3 minutes) for the fans to cool the unit down.
- When the fans have stopped, you may turn off the power.
FOLLOWING THIS PROCEDURE WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE LAMP AND MAY GIVE IT EXTENDED LIFE.
Lamps & Filters are not covered under Warranty!
