The National Academy

Academy1.jpg (23703 bytes) The National Academy was set up by the government.  It's prime purpose is to promote and support gifted and talented young people aged up to 19.  It is based at Warwick University.

The Academy ran its first three-week residential Summer School on the 22 July 2002.  Around 100 students took part from across England.

In November I sent out a publication from the Academy to all secondary schools...you should recognise the picture on the left.

If you didn't receive this publication, do please get in touch.    The publication explains that next summer some 900 places are available for the Academy's 2003 Summer School programme.  This is a great opportunity so do please encourage your most able students to try and gain a place.

If any young people in Dudley do successfully gain a place, do please let me know.  I want to be able to spread the word and celebrate success.
